Better than my Waeco/Dometic

Bought this 43Ltr BlackRhino fridge three years ago when we upgraded to a caravan. Van already has a fridge in it so I only wanted a smaller portable fridge to keep the drinks in.
For our days trips without the van, ended up getting a small 40AH lithium battery which will run the fridge for 2.5days.
This fridge has been incredible.
Great design
Strong
Solid
Lightweight
Very reliable and quick to get to temp.
The fridge had big shoes to fill as it had replaced my previous 95Ltr Waeco…..I have to admit, it is even better than the very expensive Waeco/Dometic brand.

Fantastic car/camping fridge

I got this during the back friday sales of 2023 and have used it a number of times since.

It was exactly what I had been looking for; a fridge that wasn't too big or heavy for small me to move around but still had the dual-zone option and didn't cost as much as three smaller fridges together! Well, black rhinox delivered 100% on what was promised; this fridge hasn't missed a beat, even during vicious summer heat.

As the zones are seperated by a removable divider, it does take a little attention to get both just right, however it was much less finicky than I expected. I do have and use the transit cover which I do believe helps it keep a steady temperature.

The reversable lid is definitely handy and overall, the construction appears excellent. I haven't found any weak points or any spot that seems prone to wear.

It runs great in the car off a 12v plug, equally happily off my camping battery or at home plugged into 240v. Its power usage has been in line with my expectations; I haven't spotted an excessive drain on the battery but I haven't logged it in detail.

Thanks Black Rhinox - I am a very happy customer.

Best 43 Litre Dual Zone on the market

5 STARS *****
We have had the 43 L Dual Zone Fridge Freezer for almost 12months now and it is incredible.

It is easy to get in and out of the vehicle for camping trips and supermarket trips.

We run the Fridge Freezer off a 12 volt DC Lithium battery when we are on weekend camping trips and it uses very little power.

It will run quite happily off a 24AH battery for a couple of days in Eco mode without the battery needing to be recharged.

The dual zone is very efficient.

We recommend this fridge freezer to everyone we talk to.

Great product but it will be perfect if it got wheels for convenient to drag

Great product solid robust moulded plastic, dual temp with divider, AC 240v / DC 12or24V plugs, fast freezing things up -18c, easy slide door to change the opening

only missing is this
It will be perfect if it got wheels for convenient to drag. Once it is fully loaded with stuffs, taking it from car to camp site or vice versa would be a little problem to carry it, cause it will be heavier for older people.

Finally, a small, dual zone affordable car fridge

I bought this from Aldi because it was dual zone (and my other fridge isn't) for a four week trip around Tasmania. It went into my Rav4 and I had two 44ah Dometic AGM batteries to connect to it while not driving. The BRx cooled down very quickly and I managed to freeze a 250ml bottle of water in 120 minutes - impressive. I ran with the dual zone for a while but found that if I used the larger zone for freezing then the smaller zone got too cold. (I didn't try the reverse) In the end, because of circumstance, I stuck with freezing only. The fridge was in the car all the time and the AGMs usually kept the temp at -18. The best battery life I got was 23 hours and the worst was 13 hours. I was expecting better. However, with two batteries and my nightly battery swap over and charge system my food stayed frozen. Eco mode works very well. Temperature loss during the day was quicker than I expected but I didn't have a bag for this fridge. The fridge compressor is a HUAYI and while they are supposedly very good I wonder how much current it draws compared to a Danfoss. Bottom line is that it kept my food cold and with a bit of experimenting I would have solved the dual zone system. Can I suggest that all your food is vacuum sealed as it makes life so much easier. I took a vacuum sealer with me. If you want a true dual zone system, this is a great fridge for the price and I strongly recommend it. It ran flawlessly and I managed to bring a fridge full of Tassie goodies back to QLD.
